I just rediscovered this album after about ten years. I used to listen to this CD almost non-stop my freshman year of high school. It's the only Ween album I've had but I love it. What other Ween albums live up to the Pod? I love that song Buenos Tardes Amigo as well.

Many may be a close second, but the The Pod is the muthafuckin master album.
I remember being totally baked off my ass and my buddy whipped it out (THE ALBUM) on vinyl. I sat there watching the spinning figure on the turntable trying to guess what the correct speed was 33.3 or 45. Laughted my ASS off.

Wed, November 16, 2005 - 1:42 AMIt's weird, thinking back...I don't even know how I ended up buying The Pod as opposed to the other albums. I think someone lent it to me and then I bought it. -

Re: The Pod
Wed, November 16, 2005 - 8:02 AMi think most long time fans of ween think that nothing has ever beat the pod.
i think god ween satan is comparable. but i dig each ween album for its own special reasons. i love the silliness of god ween satan.

Re: The Pod
Wed, November 16, 2005 - 2:24 PMthe Pod is up there. I'd give the Mollusk a slight edge though. The Mollusk isn't as experimental and fun as the others, but I think it's what validates Ween as real musicians. Also Gene's voice in Buckingham Green is classic. -

Wed, November 16, 2005 - 2:36 PMagreed with last post...the mollusk is unreal...flows like a storybook. I love the Pod, at time there are songs I just can't listen to.
there isn't one ween album that is even close to "bad" -

Re: The Pod
Thu, December 8, 2005 - 11:46 AMThe Mollusk was my first Weed record. A friend made me a mix tape as a gift (remember those?!) and it has most of the Mollusk on it. I listened to that tape every day in my car, then bought the record, along with every other Ween record.
Yay favorite band! -

Re: The Pod
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 12:04 PMThe Pod is so classic that I hated it the first time I heard it and then my friends played it over and over until it became an inseparable part of my psyche and I had to go out and buy it. Thematically and conceptually and experimentally it is an incredible piece of work. However I think musically I'd have to say that these days I'm a lot more likely to throw in a CD of the Mollusk or Quebec (or the live show at a bar in june of 2001 as the Jimmy Wilson Band where they play "Bag of Weed" for like 20 minutes...)
